This weekend was really tough for me. 

I think I ate too much Saturday at dinner and ended up getting the slimies..

Sunday my wife and I had breakfast after church with her parents and I had some scrambled eggs. Was fine, didnt even eat

Most people are probably aware of that YETI craze going on around the coolers and/or tumblers. They keep your drinks cold (or hot!) for hours, they don't condensate, they're room temperature to the touch, etc...

Just posted a new update on my blog, figure I'll cross post it here for any newbies just having surgery. I learned this trick from a group of ladies at my follow up appointment that just had surgery (ones a nurse!)

not sure if this has been asked, but has anyone tried taking say a can of Refried beans and splitting into a bunch of say baby food jars, then canning? 

I imagine this can of beans would go bad prior to finishing, so wondering what kind of "hac

Well my good luck run has ended...

went to work this morning and am having a case of the foamies. Morning was more or less normal. Had my scrambled egg nice and slow no issues. Got to work and made a cup of decaf coffee, took one tiny sip. Then

put up another video for day four post op. So far all is good! For in 64oz water yesterday and started on pureed foods

well I'm home! Feels good to be home. Drive wasn't too bad even tho is 90 minutes. Got home and got right into shower. I needed it so bad, felt so much better after having 

 

 

now just relaxing and sipping liquids. Had some bro

I'm sitting in the guest recliner in my room at hospital.  The hospital bed head section will only go flat and not elevate. In an effort to fix it they've leveled the entire thing and got bed in a weird position 

forced me to sit in this chair

So, getting ready for surgery one thing I want to do really well at is my liquid intake.

I've heard all about the Yeti tumblers... they dont condensate.. Keep liquids cold or hot for hours, etc. Theyre wayyyyy too expensive though

I'm preop (6 days!) and am on 4 shakes + lean protein meal a day. For the protein I'm using chicken thighs normally grilled or done in a crockpot with some bbq sauce.

Welp. Its getting close, and theres nothing in my way anymore.

Surgeons office has called and said they received all my preop clearances, and that the next time the lady sees/talks to me will be for my follow up appointment after surgery :)
