Getting Started

Sep 10, 2010

I've been thinking about WLS for a while. After too many failed attempts, despite my fear of having surgery, I decided I should consider it. I've thought about for quite some time, and finally decided I have the strength and the determination to finally change my life around. I am young, I have goals, dreams and aspirations that involve a lot more than eating junk food and watching tv, barely surving.

So, I made an appointment with Kaiser. This by itself was a miracle, because I hate doctors, especially Kaiser. But, I did. I went. I almost died a few times, but I got the referral to bariatrics. It was a little strange because it was almost no questions asked. It was my first time with this doctor (or any doctor for that matter in several years) and she didnt even really respond to my request - just turned around, and sent the referral right then and there. I guess that's what happens when you come in at 400 lbs.

It was such a relief. I want the options. I want to learn more. And now, I am on my way.

I found this community, and decided this was a good place to plant my feet at while I go through this process.
